The Law regulating Collective Investment Undertakings (CIUs) under Andorran law defines a CIU or Collective Investment Fund as an “undertaking whose purpose is to invest investors’ equities and manage them in negotiable securities, assets, rights or other instruments, financial or otherwise, following the principle of risk diversification and always establishing the investor’s return according to the collective performance of the undertaking”. An investment fund allows costs to be spread among the shareholders and gives access to a wider range of investments than would be available to individual investors in general.
